The Advanced Course in “ Criminology and Forensic Sciences ” aims to train and/or integrate training in the field of criminological disciplines and sciences that contribute to the study of crime, providing participants with the knowledge necessary to carry out the related activities.

The advanced training course, therefore, aims to provide adequate training and specific qualification in the field of criminology and scientific and forensic methods, finalizing the teachings provided for advanced training with reference to: Elements of Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Criminal and Juvenile Procedural Law, General Criminology, Victimology, Social and Marginal Pedagogy, General Sociology, Investigative Techniques, Criminological Psychology, Criminal Profiling, Forensic Medicine, Forensic Psychiatry, Homicide, Crime Scene Study, Finding, Scientific Evidence, Ballistics, Graphology, Explosives, Fingerprinting.

Career opportunities

In addition to the objectives of updating and improving, the Course, based on Law 397/2000 which introduced into the criminal system, in application of the constitutional principle of "fair trial", procedural equality between prosecution and defense , opening up new scenarios of intervention and operation with particular reference to the figure of the Criminologist, intends to actively contribute to the formation of this professional. In fact, it is necessary to train a professional who is able to also support the private parties in the process (defense and civil parties), an expert or consultant who, through the acquisition of adequate skills, is able to make his knowledge available in the fields of research, investigation, forensic activity. Specifically, this figure will be able to carry out the following specialized activities: non-professional expert in the Juvenile Court; non-professional member of the Surveillance Court; expert in penitentiary institutions in matters of treatment; expert, appointed by the judge, in the context of a process that requires the assessment of imputability; expert in business consultancy in reference to security; specialist collaborator of the police force. For the Course Participants, regardless of whether they already have a degree or not, the Specialization Course in Criminology and Forensic Sciences is equivalent to the achievement of CFU (university training credits) that can be used for enrollment in the Degree Courses.

The application for enrollment in the Course, addressed to the Rector of the University of Enna “Kore”, must be presented or sent to the University Protocol Office, Cittadella Universitaria, 94100 Enna, under penalty of exclusion, no later than 11.59 pm on 21/03/2025.
