Computer Engineering

The course

The degree course aims to train a professional figure who is able to understand, design, create and manage efficient and effective information systems capable of supporting the challenges of modern society.

The course is composed of basic, characterizing and similar subjects. The new teaching structure is characterized by an excellent basic preparation in mathematics and physics - essential tools for the figure of the Information Engineer - and by a complete and rigorous training on the characterizing topics of the most modern computer science discipline, supported by practical and laboratory activities fundamental for the maturation of theoretical concepts.

The student of the Computer Engineering Course at the University of Enna “Kore” will have the opportunity to understand the fundamental topics of current Computer Science, such as data structures, algorithms, databases, both basic and advanced programming languages, electronic calculators and computer networks, and then delve into the concepts related to the new challenges of cybersecurity, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

The degree in Computer Engineering of ministerial class L-8 aims to train professionals oriented to the design, implementation and management of information processing systems. The latest estimates on the percentage of graduates who have found work within a year of graduating in Computer Engineering from the University of Enna “Kore” are equal to 67%.

The degree in Computer Engineering allows access to second cycle studies (specialist/master's degree) and to first level university degrees.

The three-year degree of ministerial class L-8 in Computer Engineering of the University of Enna “Kore” — unlike the degree courses of class L-31 in Computer Science and Technology — allows registration in the Register of Engineers section B (three-year graduate), sector C (Information), after passing the appropriate State exam. In addition to the possibility of working independently as an Information Engineer, the preparation of the Computer Engineer allows entry into the world of work within the following areas, indicated by the Ministry of Education, University and Research:

Computer engineering area: computer industries operating in the hardware and software production sector, automation and robotics industries, companies operating in the information systems and computer networks sector, service companies, computer services for public administration and private companies;

Information security and protection engineering area: management and service systems for large infrastructures, for construction sites and workplaces, for local authorities, for public and private bodies, for industries, for IT, logical and telecommunications security and to perform the role of “security manager”;
