The University Library System recognizes the importance of Internet for the satisfaction of information, cultural and research needs and offers its users, without any discrimination, free access to web browsing. The service is provided in accordance with the institutional purposes of the Library, which is a provider of information, documentation and cultural development.

Access to the service is possible only for study, documentation, information, training or bibliographic research purposes through the use of personalized credentials assigned by the University upon enrollment.

The service is provided during the Library's opening hours.

The Library is not responsible for the quality of the information present on the network, nor does it have the possibility of controlling the available resources and what Internet can make available to the public at any time.

Due to the characteristics of the browser dedicated to navigation in Internet, the Library does not guarantee users the confidentiality of the paths they take during navigation.

Rules of conduct

Each individual user of the Internet service is required to behave in a manner that respects the ethics and rules of good use of network services (Netiquette);
Internet may not be used for purposes prohibited by applicable law;
The user is directly responsible, civilly and criminally in accordance with the laws in force, for the use made of the Internet service. The responsibility also extends to the violation of protected access, copyright and usage licenses;
It is forbidden to carry out operations that compromise the regular operation of the network. It is also forbidden to alter, remove or damage the software and hardware configurations of the Library's computer;
Paid services are not activated or can be activated upon request by a single user;
It is not possible to use any type of software other than that installed by the University.

The Library staff may intervene and suspend the connection at any time at their sole discretion in the event that the user carries out research on sites and views materials deemed indecent for a place of public access.
Failure to comply with the rules for the correct use of Internet may result in, depending on the case: a) interruption of the session b) suspension or exclusion of access to the service c) complaint.

Strictly prohibited

Attempts to violate the security of local and remote computer systems;
Violation of the privacy of third parties;
Attempts to gain unauthorized access to the network using someone else's credentials;
Unauthorized copying of copyrighted material;
The user is responsible, civilly and criminally, according to the laws in force, for the use made of the Internet network. The University reserves the right to report to the competent authorities anyone who carries out illicit or illegal activities from the Library workstations.

The user is responsible for compensating any damage caused to the equipment, software or configurations. Any offences committed will be reported and reported to the competent authorities.
For serious offences, the withdrawal of access credentials and exclusion from the service will be ordered.
