STMLab Laboratory - Laboratory for Speech Technology research and Machine Learning

The laboratory

The Speech Technology research and Machine Learning Laboratory of the Kore University of Enna (UKE), with a set of cutting-edge equipment that is unique in the national panorama, supports research activity in various fields, including:
  • speech recognition and processing
  • natural language processing
  • machine learning
  • cybersecurity
  • biometric systems for authentication and identification
  • intelligent systems to support decisions
  • robotics and automation
  • intelligent multimodal interfaces

The STMLab Laboratory also supports teaching activities, in particular for the three-year degree courses in Computer Engineering and the master's degree courses in Artificial Intelligence Engineering and Computer Security, thanks to a classroom equipped with 48 user stations, two 98″ interactive tables, a 5×1.4m touchwall, and an 87″ screen.

The research

The research group has a large international production of scientific articles in journals, conferences and books in the sector. The group has presented (some still in progress) several Special Issues and Special Sections in international journals and conferences aimed at promoting the research themes addressed in the laboratory.
