Environmental Health Engineering Laboratory (LISA)

The laboratory

The Laboratory of Environmental Health Engineering (LISA) operates in the fields of analysis (chemical, physical, microbiological, environmental) and engineering services applied to business problems.

Lisa is an ISO/IEC 17025:2018 accredited laboratory (Accredia certification – lab number 1820 L)

The research

The environmental health engineering laboratory is home to various research activities regarding various environmental issues that include environmental monitoring, pollution control processes and treatment of different soil, water and air matrices.

The research activity is followed by qualified technicians and professionals. The request for research activity under agreement can be made directly to the laboratory manager.

Work environment

The laboratory is composed of 6 different sections necessary for carrying out analyses: on waste water; on drinking water; on waste; on sediments; of a microbiological type; aimed at experimental and research activities. Furthermore, inside the laboratory there are reception areas for thesis students, "sectoral" areas (scale room, waste storage, experimental areas), two offices for technical and academic staff and a cold room (for the conservation at 4°c of the samples to be analyzed).

The laboratory is structured in several rooms equipped with the most advanced equipment and instrumental techniques for carrying out chemical, chemical-physical, microbiological and commodity analyses in matrices of different nature for the majority of applications in environmental matters.

External services

Today, LISA represents an important reality, which has allowed to stimulate and incentivize the interaction between the university and organizations and companies interested in the protection and depollution of water, air and the treatment of waste and land to be reclaimed.

The environmental health engineering laboratory also offers other services in addition to the laboratory analytical activities. These are professional interventions in numerous fields of corporate and environmental interest that are provided by the laboratory both directly and in conjunction with specialized resources. In any case, the focus is placed on the real needs of the company and the resulting actions are correctly sized. The objective is to build a constant dialogue, in which to discuss regulatory obligations but also company strategies; analysis and measurements but also process and product improvement; solutions to problems but also competitive strengthening. The real added value that is offered to our customers lies in this dialogue: continuous attention and real availability that reduce problems and bring objectives closer. The activities are entrusted to highly trained and experienced technicians.
