The UKE CPS Centre has the primary task of designing, proposing and implementing initiatives and actions aimed at promoting the psychological well-being of students and preventing experiences of failure in university studies.
The mission of the Psychological Counseling Service, or Psychological Counseling Center, is to promote the psychological well-being of students and prevent experiences of academic failure. In particular, the Center is responsible for implementing, at the request of students, actions and interventions aimed at:
a) address the psychological and educational difficulties that students may encounter in their academic career and promote skills to support them in overcoming such difficulties;
b) improve academic performance by preparing and suggesting appropriate study methods and better managing related emotional and relational aspects;
c) manage the particularly fragile conditions of students reported by the students themselves or represented by the teachers, with reference, among other things:
The Centre also deals, when asked by the interested party, with following the procedures for assigning “Alias Identities” to students who intend to start a gender transition process, as well as accompanying the procedures for recognising new identities for those who have already concluded it with a definitive provision.
"Psychological Counseling" (CPS) is a free psychological support service , reserved for those enrolled in any course of study at the University of Enna "Kore". The university path is an important moment of growth, full of new experiences. Sometimes, the student may find himself in impasse situations due to the life changes he is facing or the particular academic moment. Through a professional relationship of help and a short-term path, the CPS offers the possibility of understanding one's own ways of thinking and behaving, of acquiring awareness of the causes of one's discomfort and of the internal factors of maintenance to reorganize one's resources and develop more effective adaptation strategies. Difficulties related to low motivation, emotional experiences of discomfort and psychological distress are addressed, such as, for example, manifestations of excessive anxiety, low self-esteem, lowering of mood and problems of chronic procrastination. The service uses individual psychological counseling sessions (both in person and online, based on the user's needs and preferences), seminars and group courses on-site and remote webinars on topics of common interest to university students. Psychological Counseling is carried out through individual or group courses managed by psychologists, of a maximum of 8-10 sessions.
